Date Change for 2026 Erik Mather 2,4,6 km Swim for Melanoma
Over recent days, the committee responsible for organising the Erik Mather 2,4,6 km Swim for Melanoma (246 Swim Event) has considered the shark events and sightings in Sydney Harbour and nearby ocean beaches, engaged with SSLS and noted the cancellation and delay of various ocean swims.
Following this thorough and careful review, the decision has been made to reschedule the 246 Swim Event to a date to be confirmed in early December 2026. The rescheduled date will be communicated once we have agreement under Mosman Council’s use of beach requirements. Thank you for your patience as we confirm the date.
We recognise that a date change may be inconvenient for some and thank you for your understanding – this decision has not been made lightly. All registrations will carry forward and be valid for the rescheduled date. Registered swimmers have been notified directly of the change of date and will be further advised once the rescheduled date is known.
We also acknowledge and thank all volunteers and water safety support for their flexibility and support for the rescheduled date. Volunteers have also received communications confirming the 246 Swim Event date is being rescheduled.
We look forward to your assistance to make the 246 Swim Event a successful and safe swim in December.
