The 2,4,6 km invitational open water swim was established by club captain Erik Mather in 1998. Erik Mather died from melanoma on 26 September 2011. He was 45 years old. In 2013 the swim was renamed in Erik's memory and a charity event established. The swim not only reminds us of Erik's wonderful legacy, but also provides a significant financial contribution to the research efforts of the Melanoma Institute of Australia.
Help us achieve our goal of $15,000 and donate to assist Melanoma Institute Australia in achieving its mission of zero deaths from melanoma.
Any life lost to melanoma is one too many.
